Be a shock absorber in the opposite spirit

Be a Shock absorber

According to Wikipedia: A shock absorber is a mechanical device designed to smooth out or damp shock impulse, and dissipate kinetic energy.shock absorbers

I believe one of the most basic things God want us to be is a ‘shock absorber’. The other day, I had only a hour lunch and had quite a few things to do.
I went to the post office to post a few items. I was relieved to see as I was walking into the post office that there was no queue. As I stood in front of the counter, the person who was supposed to serve me was on the phone.

Without any recognition or excuses he just carried on talking. I couldn't hear the conversation but took it for granted that he will be quick since he has clearly seen me and know I am there.
After a good 10 minutes - which felt like an eternity, of waiting, studying everythings in the vicinity, he came of the phone.

As I was waiting for him, I was considering my next action when he get of the phone eventually. I was think should I 'blank' him, should I be short and a bit rude? Which often the way people are here.

When he eventually came of the phone call he apologised and said he has been struggling with the printer and support was on the other end. At this time, I already decided to be friendly and let it go. I said 'no problem' did my thing and leave.

Conclusion: After I left, I felt good for letting someone 'of the hook' and didn't feel worked up and bad for being moody. He probably didn't notice or was maybe secretly relieved that he had a 'easy' customer which didn't make too much of a fuss and was a bit understanding.
I could have made a fuss which could have ruined both our days and he would have gone home tired and moody and take it out on his wife.
I believe Jesus wants us to be shock absorbers..

Opposite spirit - contrary to the world

shock absorbers

God want us to be light in a dark world, to be salt where there is corruption. To bring healing where there are sickness basically ===> to destroy the works of the devil Luke 10:3

God is light and in Him there is no darkness we overcome light with darkness, we overcome the wolves with being like a lamb, we overcome evil with good. When the world goes the world way - we go GOD WAY. We bless when we are cursed, we help when we are not helped etc.

In Isaiah 61:3 we praise when Satan wants to put a spirit of heaviness on us.

The Spirit of Jesus is not: wolves fighting wolves but, lambs fighting wolves. Jesus said we should pray and bless our enemies.

Romans 12:20 says: On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head"

The Lord says “ It is Mine to avenge; I will repay says the Lord “

The world does the acts of the sinful nature Gal 5:19 We must act in the fruit of the Spirit Gal 5:22

We must be disciplined following the example of Jesus. See our article called: The Roots and Fruits of Rebellion and Rejection

Motivation: Faith

Someone once told me you need alot of faith to live with unbelievers and alot of love to live with Christians. ;)

The question is; What motivates you? What determines your world view and makes you act the way you do? Imagine a train. There is a engine in the front pulling the carriages. Is feelings you engine? Is opportunity your engine? Money, acceptance, what people think of you? What pulls your train? What motivates you? As a Christian our FAITH in God and our relationship with Him should be what pulls us. Example: you get sick, what do you do next? What do you do first? Go to the doctor? Drink medicine? Speak God's word in faith?

What / Who pulls your train?
